Mieli-forum
The Mind Forum ("Mieli-forum" in Finnish) was a two-year series of workshops funded by the Argumenta scheme of the Finnish Cultural Foundation. Argumenta funding has been offered as of 2003 to encourage cross-scientific discussion about topics that have potentially great implications upon political decision-making. Previously funded Argumenta projects include the Koli Border Forum, the Researchers' Forest Forum and Culture, Identity and Development.

The Mind Forum seminars took place between August 2007 and November 2008. The seminars brought together researchers studying the mind from a wide range of perspectives, e.g. those of neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, psychiatry, cognition science, sociology, economy and system theory. Four three-day seminars were held during the project; the fifth one was a one-day event. In the first four seminars, two days of each seminar were held in Finnish, and the third day was held in English. Admission to the seminars was by invitation only.

The Board of the Mind Forum is currently writing a book, which will describe the main results of the seminar series. The book will be written in the Finnish language and is due to be published in 2010.

The Board of the Mind Forum consists of eight Finnish researchers representing many disciplines. The Board is chaired by Professor Riitta Hari from the Aalto University School of Science and Technology.
